Have you ever been visiting gardens and wondered what type of plant you are admiring? Or been gardening and unsure which plants are weeds?

Well, there's an app to help you. It's called PlantSnap, and it catalogs over 600,000 different plants. It's like having a gardening encyclopedia in your pocket; only it's way easier to check.

With PlantSnap, all you do is point your camera at the plant you wish to ID, and the app comes up with the answer.

PlantSnap can identify flowers, trees, mushrooms, cacti, succulents, and more to make you an expert without years of study.

The app, however, is more than pointing your phone's camera to obtain the name of the plant. PlantSnap then pulls up a wealth of information from its database about the plant. You get a complete description and even how to grow and care for it, should you want to obtain one for your home or garden.

However, suppose you happen to know the name of a particular plant or flower. In that case, you can search within PlantSnap to find out more about its background and ideal growing conditions, etc.

PlantSnap goes the extra mile. It's more than simply an app to identify plants. There's a lot of added value in providing everything you need to know, plus gardening advice and tips.

It's the sort of app that, after you use it once, you are likely to get hooked, regardless of whether you have any past gardening experience or not.

Nature is a beautiful thing, and it's not hyperbole to say that PlantSnap has made it a little bit more accessible.

Indeed, more than 50 million nature enthusiasts in 200 countries are using PlantSnap and are part of the PlantSnap online community sharing their photo discoveries from around the globe.

The app is also underlining its commitment to nature by aiming to plant 100 million trees during 2021. They will plant a tree for each individual who downloads their app and becomes a registered user! And by the end of 2022, they plan to have mapped every plant species on the planet.
