You should note that there are two Hulu apps. The latest one and the classic. They are both quite different in what they offer, so check which best fits your needs.
The classic version only has content from the Hulu Streaming Library and, if subscribed, SHOWTIME. Only the latest app supports live TV and Premium add-ons. Some of the newer features are all missing from this app.
The latest app - available from Google Play and the App Store - is more streamlined and enables greater personalization and more content.
