We are in love with our smartphones. And we are fond of our PCs. It’s eminently sensible to marry the two together.
With Your Phone Companion - Link to Windows, you can do precisely that. You can see everything that’s on your phone on your PC.
For supported devices, you can not only view your device on a PC; you can also read and reply to text messages, receive and make voice calls, and more, all from your computer.
Essentially, you have all the convenience of your smartphone but on a larger screen. You can then stay on top of things by receiving and managing your phone notifications in real-time on your PC.
You no longer need to email yourself images as you can share them directly from your phone to your PC. You can also drag-and-drop, edit and copy images without going near your phone.
Select Samsung phones also have wireless file exchange and access all your top mobile apps on your computer.

You can check which devices are supported at microsoft.com. This will avoid a load of hassle and frustration trying to get the app to work with an incompatible device. Not all features may be available. And it’s best to have your Windows 10 machine up to date as well.
To avoid some of the more common set up fails, ensure that you have:
Both devices on the same WiFi connection
You are signed in on the same account on both your PC and Android phone
The battery saver is switched off.
However, it is unlikely there will ever be a Your Phone iOS version given how proprietorial Apple is over their platform.
Easy to use after set up
Brilliant access to everything on your phone
It makes life easier with a big screen, mouse, and full-size keyboard
No longer having to email yourself files
Great app to keep on top of your digital life
Requires Windows 10
Pairing can be difficult
It only works with Android
To get going with Your Phone, you need to install the app from Google Play onto your Android phone. Then you can link the app to Windows 10.
To make calls, you need a Windows 10 machine with Bluetooth.
Some Samsung phones can drag and drop files between the handset and PC, and vice versa.
Drag and drop, Access, and Phone screen all require a compatible device and Windows 10 on your PC.
You need Windows 10 with the May 2020 update or later and a minimum of 8GB’s worth of RAM for multiple apps.
Surface Duo and select Samsung mobiles have the app pre-installed, and no additional downloads are required.
The app will appear in the Quick Access tray.
