If you need a hyper-local social media platform, give Nextdoor a try. It’s a way for neighborhoods and local communities to have a focused portal on their area and a voice they might not otherwise have.
It’s the sort of place where you can borrow tools from a neighbor or publicize your yard sale. Or highlight some burning issue of the day that’s affecting life in your community.
Teaming up to uplift neighbors and small businesses
Nextdoor and H&R Block announced they were teaming up to promote community improvement initiatives to connect neighbors and uplift neighborhoods with small businesses’ help.
Recent global research commissioned by Nextdoor has revealed that knowing just six of your neighbors can reduce feelings of loneliness and improve people’s quality of life.
Following on from their partnership in 2020 to boost community spirit, Nextdoor and H&R Block are launching a new round of community projects. They will again involve small businesses in helping to relieve the social impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Last year’s collaboration saw H&R Block complete ten significant projects in ten cities across the US. The projects successfully impacted the lives of more than 3.4 million residents while supporting around 50 small businesses in the process.
