Verizon Cloud is a secure storeroom for your digital life, from images to phone backups and sensitive documents like medical records.

And with unlimited storage available, you needn't worry about running out of space or having to delete files.

Better still, you can do it straight from your phone with their mobile app. Plus, you get to try out the service for 30 days to see what's what.

Signup for a Verizon Cloud account if you're not already a customer. Then pick your subscription package after you have tested the service out for a month.

Features

● Choice of storage packages

● Connect as many phones, tablets, and computers as you like*

● Syncs across platforms and devices

● Sync your devices

● PIN-protected folder for sensitive docs

● Cast to your TV

*Unlimited package only

More

Anybody, not just Verizon customers, can use Verizon Cloud. It's a little more than your bog-standard storage solution as there are some extra touches, such as:

● Ordering photo prints and gifts from within the app

● A weekly flashback from your old images

● Creation of movies and customized photos

Nothing particularly ground-breaking, admittedly, but enough to make storing your files slightly less dry and more enjoyable.

Cutting to the chase, though, what's the price tag?

When you sign up for a trial, you have to choose which package you want to try out.

There are three options:

● Unlimited at $19.99 per month

● 2 TB at $14.99 per month

● 600 GB for $5.99 per month

If you are uncertain which will suit you best, you can opt for the 600 GB package and upgrade later on if necessary.

Bear in mind only the Unlimited package will give you unlimited storage and continuous backups of your documents, images, and videos on your computers and phones. It's also the only subscription that lets you connect as many phones, computers, and tablets as you like.

PROS

● Easy to use

● Choice of storage solutions

CONS

● Unlimited package is pricey

● Not particularly innovative, but everything works well

● Only available in English

How to use

If you're an existing Verizon customer, you can register for Verizon Cloud on the Add-ons and app or via the new add-on link.

If you are not a Verizon customer already, you can register on the app's dedicated website.

Next, check to see if the app is already on your phone. If not, it is downloadable from Google Play and Apple's app store.

The Android app requirements vary by device, while iOS users will need 144 MB of storage space on their iPhone or iPad and iOS 13.0 or later.

The verdict from both platforms' users is similar; Verizon Cloud gets 4.4 out of five at Google Play and 4.6 out of five over on the App Store.

Once you have installed and given the app the appropriate permissions, you start the first backup by checking what content you want to save to the cloud. Depending on how much content there is to transfer, the first backup can take many hours.
