Deezer is a music app that’s rapidly growing in popularity as an alternative to the likes of Spotify and the rest.
With 73 million tracks on tap, Deezer can be your life’s soundtrack player. It’s fully featured and supports playlists, podcasts and makes recommendations based on your listening history. Greener energy-efficient podcast API announced
Deezer became the first prominent audio streamer to slash energy requirements by reworking its API to allow podcasters to upload to the platform immediately.
French podcaster, Ausha has become the first to host the new Deezer API that is expected to cut the streamer’s server energy consumption by 86%.
The revised API means podcast providers can upload new episodes and info to the Deezer platform immediately. The energy savings come from eliminating update crawling and server requests that would otherwise be the case.
Get three months for free
Deezer announced that new subscription customers would qualify for three months of free, unlimited access on their Premium, Family, and HiFi packages.
The three months for free will be a permanent feature in select countries but time-limited until April 30, 2021, in other countries.

Upgrading also gets you unlimited skips, premium 320 kBps sound quality, compatibility with Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and other enabled devices like Sonos speakers and sound systems.
Two of the subscription packages you may be interested in are Deezer Family, which allows six profiles on one account, and Deezer Student, which at $4.99 per month is half the price of Deezer Premium.
Premium costs $9.99 per month per user, while the Family option will set you back $14.99.
You can get a quarter off the Premium by paying an annual charge of $89.91.
Also coming in at $14.99 is the Deezer HiFi account with lossless quality and also subject to three months for free.
